Consciously using the Law of Attraction in everyday life!

Law of Attraction Tips

By Colin Joss

The Law of Attraction is a basic principle of life, a powerful force. Here are a few of interesting situations:

• You walk into a room and a couple of strangers start looking at you. Ever wondered why? It is not just the clothes you are wearing, or the fact that they think they know you from somewhere. In all probability it is more due to something intangible like the way you are carrying yourself, or the way in which you are talking (even if you are inaudible to the persons whose attention you have attracted).

• You are talking to a person and thinking, it could be interesting to get to know this person better. Out of the blue, without any lead from you, the other person says “What are you doing tomorrow, can we meet”?

• You are dreaming of taking a holiday, but cannot imagine how you can make it a reality because of all the things happening in your life at that moment. When suddenly one of the big things you are working on gets delayed by a few days due to some extraneous circumstances. Here is your opportunity to take those few days off that you were just thinking about.

• You are thinking of an old friend who you have completely lost touch with. You are thinking of all the fun times together and thinking that it is a pity that both of you just seem to have dropped off each other’s radar. While sorting through some papers in a seldom used drawer you suddenly chance upon a bit of paper with your friend’s number.

The situations above are some examples that make us stop and think “now just how did that happen”. These are not every day or even every week situations. They generally happen completely out of the blue. These are examples of the Law of Attraction at work. The Law of Attraction is a powerful tool and could be used to get what we really desire. It is deceptive in its very simplicity. It requires a lot of self discipline and practice to be able to be in touch with our inner-self, to be in touch with the energies we are radiating. Meditation and yoga are a useful tool to master that will help us get in touch with our inner being. In today’s world of chasing our tails and filling every quiet moment with TV and music this is easier said than done.

This having been said, we should also be aware that whether or not we deliberately try to use the Law of Attraction, it is constantly at work. We are constantly radiating energies either good or bad and these energies in turn are affecting persons and events around us. How often have we been with someone who is teary eyed and found tears coming to our own eyes or how often have we been to a cheery party (even if we ourselves are not ‘in the mood’) and before long our spirits have been lifted. Whether we're aware or not, we are actually attracting jobs, people and positive situations. How often have we been told “think positive and it will happen?”

Here are some steps to help you to make the Law of Attraction work for you.

1. Live and let live. Positive, unexpected situations like those listed above don’t happen every day. They happen out of the blue, when we least expect them. When they do happen, accept them, absorb them. Let the ‘good luck’ happen to you. Don’t you think you deserve it? Grab the opportunity. Do not be afraid of success. Don’t get caught up in the negativity of “Why me? What did I do to deserve this?”

2. Identify a few things that you really want and focus on them. Do not keep changing your goals or you will be going round chasing your tail. Admittedly, our goals do change with the passage of time, with our stage in life, with changing circumstances around us. But do try and focus on a few goals and go out and get them – they will not fall into your lap. Remember, “God only helps those who help themselves”.

3. Make Your Goals Tangible. Rather than have a goal of good health have a goal of being active and productive at age 70. Rather than having the goal of wealth, have the goal of a big house and car – the physical signs of wealth. Try and have a goal that you can visualize.

4. Visualize the stepping stones that you will need to cross in order to achieve your goal, much like the rungs on a ladder. And then ever strive to get your foot on the next rung.

5. Constantly keep your eye on your goal, lest you lose sight of it and are side-tracked. Circumstances may happen that we did not plan or envision. Don’t let that deter you. For all you know, these circumstances may just be another easier route to you achieving your goal.

6. Be responsible for your actions. As we go through life we are constantly dealing with people and are constantly facing situations. Our actions and reactions affect others around us. We should always be aware that our words and deeds are making a difference (good or bad) to those around us and we should be convinced of the reason for our action so that we can take responsibility for the same.

7. Move forward. Keep one eye on the ultimate goal and continue to strive to reach the next stepping stone towards your goal. Remember that by remaining stationery, without us even knowing it, we are actually falling backwards because the rest of the world around us is constantly moving forward.

8. Leave your comfort zone. Stepping into the unknown or unchartered territory is a scary prospect. Most often we are reluctant to leave behind the security of the known and to step out into the unknown. At times, however in order to achieve our goals we do need to step out boldly. This could be in the form of leaving the security of an existing job to take up a new job where we would have to establish relationships with strangers and would have to prove our worth. Or again it may be just accepting a transfer to a city that we have not lived in before. In order to climb on to the next rung of our ladder, we have to get our feet of the previous rung. Remember the adage “Nothing ventured, nothing gained”.

You cannot fight the law of attraction. Whether or not you are aware of your goals and the energies you are radiating, whether or not you are even aware of the Law of Attraction, it is operating around you. You cannot stop it. But you can control it and use it to your own advantage.

So dream big and achieve!
